LANG 408 Native American Dance & Music II
This course is the second part of a sequence on traditional dance and music of Native Americans with focus on Ojibwe dance and music. Students are required to have taken Native American Dance and Music I prior to enrolling in this course. Evaluation of different dance styles, regalia, and music not covered in Native American Traditional Dance and Music I will be covered in this course. Stories and cultural protocol related to different dances and forms of music of the Ojibwe people will be explored. An understanding of how traditional music and dance reflect traditional Ojibwe spirituality, language, and culture will also be examined.
