The Turtle Mountain Community College Library is committed to excellence in service and to provide a learning center for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and the surrounding communities where access to information encourages life-long learning.
The Turtle Mountain Community College Library has approximately 24,680 items including books, DVD’s, audiobooks, cassettes, etc. The Library has 4,630 materials in the Native American Section. The Children’s Collection has 6,233-catalogued items. The Dewey Decimal Classification System organizes the library. In addition to the print periodical collection, the Library has access to the Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN) that accesses the catalogs of nearly all the major libraries in North Dakota, and through other networks, libraries nationwide. The online catalog is Follett Destiny.
The Library has a web page at www.tm.edu. The library has several on-line resources for patron use such as Credo Literati and EBSCO Search Premier. The library facility includes 3 tutoring rooms, 29 desktop computers with free printing capabilities. TMCC students have access to calculators, voice recorders and e-readers free to check out with a student ID.
The hours during the academic year are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday thru Thursday and 8:00am to 4:40 pm on Friday.

The Turtle Mountain Community College Library serves as both an academic and public library. Our collection of materials supports the needs of the students, professional development of teachers and staff, and the community. The library’s holdings are organized in ten collections:
- Reference Collection
- Easy Collection
- Juvenile Collection
- Teen Collection
- Anishinabe Collection
- Elementary Education Collection
- Non-Fiction Collection
- Fiction Collection
- Audiobook
- DVD
The library’s holdings also include a large periodical section; music on compact discs, cassette, and phonograph records; audio books on CD and cassette; and a large assortment of videos and DVDs. The library also has a computer lab with computers and laptops that are internet accessible and has wireless internet capabilities.
The library is furnished with a children’s reading area, newsprint reading area, a quiet lounging area for large group studying or for student organizations meetings, smaller lounging areas for reading, and a tutor room. Patrons can also view videos and DVDs in the designated area of the library.

Institutional Mission Statement
Turtle Mountain Community College is committed to functioning as an autonomous Indian controlled college on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation focusing on general studies, undergraduate education, Career & Technical Education, scholarly research, and continuous improvement of student learning. By creating an academic environment in which the cultural and social heritage of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa is brought to bear throughout the curriculum, the college establishes an administration, staff, faculty, and student body exerting leadership in the community and providing service to it.

Mission Statement and Objectives
The mission of the library is a dual service library that serves as both an academic library for TMCC and a public library for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. The library aspires to fulfill this mission by:
- Providing informational support for the TMCC general studies, vocational education programs, and for scholarly research;
- Providing informational resources that will empower the creation of an environment in which the cultural and social heritage of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa can be brought to bear throughout the curriculum;
- Providing administration, faculty, and student body with the informational tools involved in exerting leadership within the community and providing service to it;
- Providing the Belcourt community with informational resources that will empower them to protect their rights, enrich their lives, and bolster their cultural identity;
- Providing recreational materials such as fiction, picture books, local authors and materials, etc. that will increase the clientele’s richness and enjoyment of life;
- Providing a stimulating environment which encourages a love of reading and learning consistent with the mission statement of the college.
