Program Description
TMCC’s Commercial Bus Operations Curriculum will provide students with competencies and skills needed to assist in obtaining a North Dakota Class ‘B’ Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. Students gain a working knowledge of a bus through a combination of classroom, simulation and behind-the-wheel training that meets the requirements set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT).
Program Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Complete a TMCC application for admissions
Valid North Dakota Driver’s License (Class D or Class A)
Original copy of Birth Certificate*
Must obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC)
Submit a clean drug screen within 5 days of admission into the program
Students will be required as a prerequisite for CDL 106 Novice Bus Training w/lab pass a drug test before any hands-on training will take place. This is a requirement set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), along with the Department of Transportation (DOT) in 49 CFR Part 40 Subpart F.
*If a student enrolling in the Commercial Bus Training has a “Real ID”, then the student does not need to have a certified copy of their birth certificate.
