HST 240 Self-Care as a Human Services Professional

Self-care, as a human services worker in a field where burnout is high, is vital to maintaining a healthy and balanced work and personal life. Human services professionals are often working with clients in high stress, crisis situations that require a lot of mental, emotional, and physical energy. In this course students will learn about self-care, techniques and strategies for managing stress and maintaining health and well-being. Students will explore mental, physical, and emotional health through the lens of the various tools with an emphasis on the Medicine Wheel.
