BIOL 431 Grassland Ecology/Lab

This course focuses on grassland factors such as soil content, climate change, invasive species, and habitat losses that affect the Great Plains region.  Students will study biodiversity, plant ecology, animal ecology, and ecosystem processes present in North American grasslands. The importance of grassland to Native Americans and the effects following the loss of the grasslands will be discussed.  Conservation and restoration efforts will also be discussed, with special attention given to the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian reservation.
