LANG 401 Native American Dance & Music I
This course will focus on traditional dance and music of Native American people. In particular, students will learn how the different Native American traditional dances developed and changed throughout time. Changes in regalia and accessories will also be evaluated in this course. Students will discuss the different forms of Native American music and instruments and how tribal influences and non-native influences have affected music and dance. Students will examine gender differences in music. Ojibwe language, culture, dance, stories, and music will be integrated into this course.
