MATH 272 Ojibwe Math II

The Turtle Mountain Ojibwe have rich ways of knowing passed down for generations. Specifically, mathematical ways of knowing are embedded within the language and culture. The primary focus of this course will be on traditional games, crafts, and feats of construction/engineering, seeking to revitalize these mathematical ways of knowing to be widely known and normalized within the community once again. This course will also place Turtle Mountain Ojibwe math within the larger context of Indigenous mathematics and Indigenous ways of teaching and learning.
