PBHL 104 Global Health, Vaccine Strategies and Covid-19 Concepts

This course introduces students to basic concepts of global health, vaccine strategies and Covid-19 concepts. The global health portion of the course covers global health determinants, indicators, measurement, the roles of education, economics and development in global health, and global health and malaria, measles and rubella.  The vaccine strategies section covers public health concepts to increase vaccination rates in healthcare professionals, college and university students, adults including women of child-bearing age, vaccine monitoring systems in the United States, pneumococcal and human papilloma virus diseases and vaccines.  The Covid-19 section covers Covid-19 history, characteristics, mitigation concepts, community or herd immunity, vaccines, crisis communications and home monitoring.
