AHU 230 Ishwasso Maawandoogwaasonikaan

This is an intermediate class in quilting; students will learn how to read a pattern, to cut quaros and sew them together for the selected quilt pattern. This course teaches quilt making using eight patterns, one of which students will select from. A variety of tools will be introduced. After selecting a quilt pattern, a template will be developed for designing the selected quilt. The class will also learn about the history of quilts. The two types of quilts that are generally made in our community are the Log Cabin Quilt and the Star Quilt. This class will help preserve these family traditions and bring it to the younger members of our community.
