AHU 297 Mitchif Sash Making

The Michif/Metis sash is a piece of art made by the Ojibwa people. It is a finger woven belt around 9 feet in length. The Michif/Metis scarf can be used as a scarf, rope, but originally it was used to hold a coat closed. The sash had great significance to the Ojibwa people. Students in this course will learn a variety of sash patterns.
